Artist and designer, Sondra Wiskari, has a passion for the creative in all forms. Endlessly curious, she is loves searching out new techniques and technologies to apply to her art.

Born to an artist mother and a journalist/poet father – both of whom were musicians as well - the arts gene is definitively part of her DNA. Immersed and encouraged in all the arts from her earliest years, she studied fine art and music, earning a BFA with minor studies in Art History from CUNY. Falling into couture on 7th Avenue, Wiskari utilized her love of knitwear and textile creation to aid in realizing the designs of Patricia Pastor and Marc Jacobs. As the senior designer, researcher, and design coordinator for The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store, she created bi-annual textile and accessory lines reflecting the eclecticism of the institution. Focusing primarily on surface pattern, Wiskari's fascination for process leads to constant experimentation with blending technology and artisanal craft. Through digital imaging, she melds hand-wrought sketches, painting, and photography to form motifs for luxury textiles, as well as silk scarves presented under the SWiskariAtelier label and sold through her online art gallery at KariGallery.com. 

With a concentration on surface pattern and photography, WiskariStudios is a platform for an expanding arts and design atelier. Wiskari is primarily available for custom design projects, and now offers luxury bespoke scarf production.
